Ryan Farrar, O.D.

Optometrist 

Dr. Ryan Farrar is an experienced optometrist committed to helping patients of all ages achieve clear, comfortable vision and maintain healthy eyes. Originally from Hugoton, he is proud to provide comprehensive eye care for patients and families in Liberal and the surrounding region. 

Dr. Farrar earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2000 from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. During his graduate studies, he conducted research focused on children’s vision, vision therapy, and attention deficit disorders. 

Before coming to Liberal, Dr. Farrar practiced in Emporia, where he coordinated the Flinthills Eyecare Associates Vision Therapy Clinic. He also served as a researcher in the State of Kansas Vision Therapy Research Study. 

In addition to comprehensive eye exams and general optometric services, Dr. Farrar has a special interest in pediatric and behavioral vision. He evaluates both eye health and visual function, including how visual skills may affect a child’s learning, reading, coordination, and daily activities. He works with patients experiencing concerns related to eye teaming, tracking, focusing, crossed eyes, lazy eye, and other visual challenges that may benefit from vision therapy. 

Dr. Farrar is a member of the American Optometric Association, Kansas Optometric Association, Optometric Association of Oklahoma, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and American Board of Optometry. 

His professional and community recognition includes the 2019 SCCC Outstanding Alumni Award, the 2020 Liberal Chamber of Commerce Man of Distinction Award, the 2020 AOA 25 Year Membership Award, and the 2025 Eisenhower Middle School Dedicated Site Council Member Award. 

Dr. Farrar works alongside Dr. Liz Fieser to provide comprehensive eye health and vision services for patients of all ages. Dr. Farrar sees patients Tuesday through Friday.
